PLOT

Taking place twenty years after the Metagen-92 virus – aka the “Superflu” – has swept the world and rendered many of its adult population superpowered or mutated, Origin Story follows MC (name customizable), a seemingly normal nineteen-year-old struggling with his social status and his virginity, who is shunned by his peers due to his ability not yet manifesting. After the death of his parents when he was just a baby, he was raised by their close friend Parker Samson, an influential and beautiful woman who is now the co-owner of the lead organization behind Metagen research and development of the Metagen Vaccine.

When MC is targeted and violently attacked for reasons unknown to him, The Sisterhood – a government-backed team of celebrity superheroines and sex icons - comes to his aid. While under their care, his ability manifests and MC finds himself juggling his school life with an ability he must keep secret, his family, a blossoming relationship with his best friend and girl-next-door Evelyn and his involvement with The Sisterhood. MC soon finds himself on the path to determine whether this is the origin story of a hero, or a villain.

ABOUT ME

I am a very new developer, and just one guy, with no experience in either Ren’Py or Daz until roughly a year before work on Origin Story began. I spent much of that year learning both, and my skills have improved significantly, but I’m certainly not up there with the big boys of AVNs yet. 

ABOUT ORIGIN STORY

Origin Story is a story-driven and somewhat linear visual novel though there will be some player choices leading to different paths and content along the way. There are some small free-roaming sections sprinkled throughout the story where the player can explore certain locations with optional conversations and opportunities to learn more about the world in which the game is set.  There will be a lot of humor, some dark and disturbing moments, and plenty of moments where you wouldn't want your parents to walk in on you while you play.

I am essentially an amateur at Ren’Py, so anyone looking for a game with complex mechanics might want to look elsewhere. There are no complicated GUIs, affection systems and no mini games planned whatsoever. What I do pride myself on is my renders and looking around at the plethora of other AVNs available, I’d like to think mine would be somewhere approaching the upper echelon of render quality and I'm getting better as I go.

I currently have Chapters 1-3 fully posed, rendered, postworked & programmed. Each chapter will be released every few months while I work on future chapters. I have a total of twenty chapters written so far, and this is still very much in progress. 

WARNING 1: 

While there is certainly an element of "porn-game logic" in Origin Story, I wanted to do some things that flipped the script on porn-game tropes. One of the decisions I have made was to make the "mother figure" a somewhat flawed and sexual person, to a fault, and include particular optional scene including her that serves the story much later on. This is ruffling feathers amongst the anti-NTR community enough to create a wave of trolls trashing on it and spreading misinformation about its content. So I will try to be clear on what exactly this scene is, and debunk the lies, and then you can decide whether its for you or not. 

Chapter 1 has one extremely brief scene (literally 3 renders and 10 seconds long) that takes place during a flashback where the MC witnesses the "mother figure" who is, at that point, not a love interest... and may never be depending on your choices, receiving oral. It is completely optional, and you are pre-warned about this scene far in advance. If you choose not to view this particular scene, you are given a different scene that has the character solo instead and the alternative is rendered non-cannon. In both instances, you are still given the choice not to look.

In hindsight, the internal monologue the MC has during the scene does not convey what I was really going for with this scene (not being a cuck), so I have rewritten this for future releases to hopefully give a clear indication of why I included it.

It is the only instance in the entire game where a potential LI is seen interacting with another man and represents 0.003% of what the game actually is.

If the thought of this completely avoidable scene even existing still upsets you, please avoid this game.

In terms of the misinformation that is being spread around because of this scene, here is where I clarify a few things.

1. This is not an NTR game, and never will be.
2. There is not an NTR/cuck variable.
3. There is no futa content, and never will be.
4. This is not a femdom game. There is currently no femdom content in the game, though as you can tell by the current/planned tags below, there is some small optional femdom content planned much later. There is however, maledom content already present.
5. The LIs are not "all sluts". Three of them are literally virgins.

WARNING 2: 

As alluded to above, the girls here are all of varied sexual experience. There are some girls who are full on virgins. There are some who are only virgins physically, but not mentally (superpower shit). There are some that you'd be insane to assume are virgins as they're older and attractive but are not necessarily huge deviants. And there are some that are huge nymphos.

If you are looking for a game with unrealistic expectations of all your available love interests being untainted princesses, this is not it.

WARNING 3: 

This may be a dealbreaker for some, but it is what it is. There are currently no animated scenes (well… maybe one and you’ll see exactly why). I have tried it, and so far, I am useless at it. I have played far too many AVNs that would have been decent but for the terrible animations that ruin the overall quality of the package, and until I am better, I do not want Origin Story to be considered among them.

So, at present, all lewd scenes are comprised of static renders only. I do intend to practice and get better at it, but it is so time consuming I cannot completely focus on this under the limited time I have to work on Origin Story. If this ever gains enough traction and supporters to allow me more time to work on this, then by all means I will be putting a lot of focus on improving my animation skills until its good enough to start retroactively replacing static renders with animation.

WARNING 4: 

Not everything is as it seems. If you don't agree with particular things a character does or how they act, bear with it. You may be proven wrong.

WHY SUPPORT ME ON PATREON?

Ultimately, because I am just one guy doing everything and unfortunately, I have the same burdens most people do: a family that also requires my attention, a full-time job, a mortgage to pay. Between working and being a dad to my four-year-old son, I have very little spare time, and what time I do have I sometimes need to give to my wife. All of this will certainly hinder my ability to get updates out at a reasonable rate, but I will do my best.

Earning something from this Origin Story will help free up more time to focus on working on it, help pay my utility bills (which have nearly doubled since I started rendering every free minute I get), pay for new assets, pay for music licensing and pay for new computer parts when the current ones decide they can't handle rendering anymore and just melt away instead. Finally it will just to give me a reason to continue doing it, because I really enjoy it.

Naturally, the dream would be to give up working full time... anyone who says otherwise is lying. But that is exactly what that is: a dream. For now I will continue to sit in my car out of view of prying eyes during my lunch breaks coding on my laptop.
